Renovating a lounge bar in the heart of Turin: the case of Deep Space Lounge

Located at the intersection of Via Bertola and Via XX Settembre, Deep Space Lounge was designed as a modern and welcoming bar, suitable for breakfast, lunch, and aperitifs.

This renovation and interior design project aimed to create a dynamic and innovative space that combines aesthetics and functionality to offer a unique experience in the beating heart of Turin.

Orbyta Engineering led the entire process, from architectural design to construction management, with a focus on the reorganization of interior spaces.

The design for Deep Space Lounge created an environment that combines urban design with conviviality. The layout and color choice played a key role in creating a unique and distinctive atmosphere.

In addition, demolition of a partition created a large open space with storefronts facing Bertola Street and XX September Street. The niches in the storefronts, furnished with custom crafted seating, provide cozy relaxation spots and visual contact with the outdoors.

A social table, painted in electric blue, invites conviviality with built-in electrical outlets for those who wish to work or recharge devices. Finally, a more intimate area, defined by orange hues, allows customers to enjoy a quiet moment away from urban chaos.

The contrast between the electric blue, predominant white, and orange creates an eye-catching visual dynamism.

The hallway of the anteroom and the wall behind the social table amplify this contrast, while a colorful wallpaper adds a touch of curiosity for those watching from outside.

The intervention included a complete renovation with emphasis on functionality and efficiency:

• Cadastral merger: the expansion of the premises was made possible by careful urban and administrative planning, which integrated the pre-existing spaces into a single commercial activity.
• Modernized facilities: the plant design ensured the creation of an efficient and functional system in line with safety regulations and the comfort required for a catering business.

Deep Space Lounge represents an example of how careful architectural planning and thoughtful interior design can transform an urban space into a landmark for workers and residents.
